Celtics take second straight win on this 8 game road trip and could be 3-0 instead of 2-1  if they could have held the lead against the Lakers. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics hitting the game winning basket with 6.6 seconds left in-game, had 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Brandon Bass had a season-high 22 points, plus a team high 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block for Boston. Rajon Rondo added 14 assists, 8 points, and 6 rebounds. Former Warriors swingman Mickael Pietrus came out swinging against his original NBA team, going 5-for-6 on 3-pointers for 15 points, 3 assists and 1 steal off the bench. Also off the bench Greg Stiemsma had 8 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block.

PostHeaderIcon Celtics win 2nd of back to back on the road over Clippers 94-85

A day after blowing a five-point lead down the stretch against the Lakers, the Celtics turned the tables on the Clippers and erased a four-point deficit in the last four minutes Monday night, winning for the seventh time in the last nine games, 94-85, at Staples Center. Paul Pierce led all starters in double digits with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists.  Rajon Rondo had a double_double with 12 points, 10 assists, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Kevin Garnett just missed another double_double with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Brandon Bass missed a double_double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Ray Allen scored 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal shooting 2 of 3 from behind the arc.

“They made the shots down the stretch and we didn’t. We had some good looks at the rim, but shots didn’t fall and we couldn’t get a stop.” – Celtics guard Rajon Rondo

All five starters scored in double figures for the Celtics with Rondo’s 24 points, 10 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal leading the way. Also with a double_double was Kevin Garnett with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Ray Allen finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 block. Ray has 2694 3-pts in career.

The Celtics shot 13-for-16 from the floor in the third quarter to help erase a 15-point second-quarter deficit. Unfortunately, the Lakers were able to match their scoring by getting to the free-throw line 14 times in the quarter, compared to 0 trips for Boston.

Portland had 17 turnovers over the opening 24 minutes, and finished with a season-high 28 turnovers, the highest number for any team in an NBA game this season. Paul Pierce had a team-high 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for the C’s. Ray Allen also had 22 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists, he shot 4-for-7 from behind the arc for 2691 in his career. E’Twaun Moore had 5 points and 1 assist off the Bench. Avery Bradley had 12 points, 5 assists and 1 steal in 21:37 min.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal while Brandon Bass had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assists as the Celtics can’t get their sixth straight. Boston forward JaJuan Johnson scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block off the bench while center Greg Stiemsma added 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists and 2 blocks.

Paul Pierce scored a game-high 30 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Kevin Garnett recorded his fourth straight double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds adding 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Ray Allen scored 21 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals also hit 3 of 8 from 3 pt land. Ray Allen 2687 3pt’s. Rajon Rondo had 9 points, 12 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Greg Stiemsma scored eight points and  1 rebound off the bench on 4-for-6 shooting.

Rajon Rondo had a triple-double as the Boston Celtics beat the New York Knicks 115-111 in an overtime thriller. Boston’s All-Star point guard had an incredible stat line of 18 points, a career-high 17 rebounds,  20 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. According to Elias Sports Bureau: Rondo is only the 3rd player in NBA history with at least 15 Pts, 20 Ast and 15 Reb in a single game (Wilt and Oscar Robertson where the other two). Also it was only the third time in NBA history that a player has recorded at least 20 assists and 17 rebounds in a game. Magic Johnson did it in 1983, with 17 rebounds and 21 assists against the Hawks, and Wilt Chamberlain had 25 rebounds and 21 assists against Detroit in 1968.

Paul Pierce added a game-high 34 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block during Boston’s fourth straight win, including a game tying three-pointer with just four seconds remaining in regulation. Kevin Garnett  posted his third straight double-double Sunday afternoon with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks and is averaging 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game on 53 percent shooting since returning from a two-game personal absence on February 22nd.

Paul Pierce broke out of his shooting slump with a team-high 27 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 block  as the Boston Celtics blew out the New Jersey Nets 107-94 for their third consecutive win since the all-star break. Kevin Garnett added his third double-double 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal over his past four games. Rajon Rondo also had 14 points, 13 assists, 5 steals and 2 rebounds as the C’s go back over the .500 mark to 18-17. Mickael Pietrus started in Ray Allen ( flu-like symptoms) place, had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
